After a week of stand-down our crews went back to the Brenner railroad again and successfully attacked the two 120-foot bridges at Calliano besides cratering the track at Rovereto and securing hits on the rail fill at Osseniga. The Calliano mission was exciting, insofar as 15 to 20 Me-109's and FW190s were observed in the target area although they did not attack. Two B-25s of the 319th group were shot down by fighters over Rovereto |

Mission to Roverto rail bridge, Italy and got only 90% but with only one hit on the bridge itself. Two Me 109's made a pass at the formation but no damage was done - either way. |

In two days we ran two missions, which is something of a recent record for us. The mission on Sunday, which carried us to our regular bombing ground, Northern Italy, was rough. About six of our planes were holed, Captain Neafus was forced to land with a single engine at Pisa, and one of our gunners was seriously injured. In spite of terrific enemy ack-ack and fighter opposition, the objective of the mission, to create [crater?] a railroad fill, was accomplished |
