| 340th HQ Diary | Dec. 4th entry: Yesterday the 340th attacked the Mantua east rail bridge and the Canneto rail bridge. The latter target escaped serious damage but the Mantua bridge was almost completely destroyed, the photo interpreter reports. |
| 486th | Manuta East R.R. BR. today - results not good. Weather was bad, two ships with engine trouble but at least no flak. |
| 487th | Twelve bombers of the 487th Squadron took-off at 11:09 hours this morning to bomb two distinct targets, Canneto railroad bridge and Mantua East railroad bridge in Northern Italy. Canneto was completely overshot, but Mantua was crossed with a compact pattern immediately east of center. The bridge was severly damaged although still standing. Heavy enemy anti-aircraft fire was encountered, but due to inaccuracy no planes were holed or damaged |
