November 8, 1944 Mission to the Tomba Railroad Bridges
| Squadron | War Diary |
|---|---|
| 340th HQ Diary | Favorable weather conditions over both the Po Valley and the island of Corsica. The 340th dropped its bombs today on the Casarsa rail bridge, but on another mission missed the two Tomba railroad bridges. [There seems to have been some confusion as to the name of the target. Pinzano is a town on the same river but south of the target. The target photo and the 488th Squadron's bombing report using the same map coordinates, but different names for the target.] |

| 487th | Twelve squadron bombers took off at 10:18 hours to bomb Pinzano railroad bridge in northern Italy. A few bombs cut the railroad track although the pattern hit south of the bridge, no hits were observed on bridge or approach. No flak or other enemy opposition was encountered and all planes and crews returned safely to the base. |
| 488th | Pinzano rail bridge, Italy bombed by twelve planes. Got only 50% as the second box missed the target. |
