September 30, 1944 Mission to the Magenta Road & Railroad Bridge

Squadron	War Diary
340th HQ Diary	After many days of waiting, the Group finally resumed full scale operations today having as targets the Magenta, Tortona, Borgo Forte and Cittadella bridge or rail diversion. Successful results were reported on all.
486th	Early afternoon mission relieved the stand-down siege. Results reported as good.
487th	Not assigned to this mission.
488th	From mission report: Flak: Heavy, intense and fairly accurate coming from along river from J9849. Little flak from Rappello. Results: 1st box started just over and to left of bridge. 2nd box started short of bridge (approx 100 ft) and extended over west side of bridge.
