September 18, 1944 Mission to Rimini Gun & Troop Area

486th Morning Mission again in support of assault on Gothic Line - Result 95%
487th Sixteen bombers of this Squadron took off at 9:15 A.M. to again attack troop concentrations at Rimini, Italy. Due to a complete coverage at the initial point and over the target it was impossible to bomb. Six planes were holed as a result of the accurate flak encountered at the target area. Hydraulic system in 7Y was shot out, but they succeeded in landing safely.
488th From mission report: 100% demolitions started west of center of triangle, went through center and almost into the town. Frags made similar pattern but south of the 100% demos and wer all in target area.
