July 24, 1944 Mission to Chivasso Railroad Bridge

Group HQ	Mission today was again successful... Chiavassi Road and Rail bridge was hit at several points. Radio control bombing was again used. Satisfied with its results of this type of bombing the ideas are being disseminated among the Groups of this Wing for further trial......
486th	Early morning mission today was very successful - The combat crews were elated at their work.
487th	Early morning mission today. Six planes took off at 08:13 hours to bomb Chiavasso west railroad bridge. Their bomb pattern covered the eastern part of the bridge, but it remained standing in spite of the bombing. Several bursts of ack-ack were observed in the target vicinity although no damage was done to any of the participating aircraft.
488th	Mission to Chivasso rail bridge, Italy. 100% again.
489th	Not assigned to this mission.
