| 488th | Two missions today. First to Pianora rail bridge and second to Parma, both in Italy. Four planes holed in all. Both 100% in bombing accuracy. A lot of credit belongs to T/Sgt. Bronson, radio-gunner, who even though he hadn't been ordered to do so, had the presence of mind enough to turn on the camera and got the only pictures of the mission. |
| 489th | Today this squadron completed its 250th combat mission. Eighteen of our planes flew to the Po Valley and unloaded 1000 pounders on a rail bridge northwest of the city of Parma. Eighty-two per cent of the bombs fell within the target area, making this a highly successful mission. |
